NSD Professors Credited for Global Academic Impact

Five NSD scholars appeared on the 2023 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list released by Elsevier on March 27, 2024. A total of 5,801 Chinese researchers of various disciplines were featured owing to their significant global academic impact. 201 were from Peking University.

The five NSD researchers, included on the theoretical economics sub-list, were: Huang Yiping, Lei Xiaoyan, Justin Yifu Lin, Zeng Yi, and Zhao Yaohui. This was the tenth compilation of the Elsevier list, and NSD professors had made it to all of them.

Elsevier’s list is dedicated to systematically demonstrating the current state of talent distribution in China’s research field, presenting the disciplinary compositions and academic impact of various institutions and universities, as well as highlighting the top talents in key research areas. The 2023 version covered 496 institutions of higher learning and 10 disciplinary spheres and 84 first-level disciplines set forth by the Ministry of Education.
