PKU NSD is an integrated college that offers a multidisciplinary program centered on economics. Its predecessor, Peking University China Center for Economic Research (CCER), was founded in 1994 by six overseas trained economists with PhDs including Justin Yifu Lin. As more scholars joined, and research and teaching expanded, it was renamed Peking University National School of Development (or PKU NSD) in 2008.
NSD boasts a faculty of renowned domestic and foreign scholars. In addition to founders Justin Yifu Lin, Wen Hai, Gang Yi and Weiying Zhang, it also includes Qiren Zhou, Guoqing Song, Yi Zeng, Weifang Min, Yang Yao, Yiping Huang, Guoen Liu, Ling Li, Yaohui Zhao, Jun Fu, Chunhua Chen, and other renowned scholars in the fields of economics, management studies, political science, education economics and demography. PKU NSD offers three major teaching programs in the fields of political science, business and academia. In research, NSD is a leader in the domestic rankings for per capita academic publication both in China and overseas. Years of hard work have seen NSD become a worthy leader among think tanks of schools of higher learning in China.
