Taiyi Yan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organisation and Innovation at the UCL School of Management. Before joining UCL, he received his doctoral degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include 1) interpersonal and inter-team competition in organizations; 2) structural hole and network theory; 3) gender differences and gender parity. His work has been featured in leading management and psychology journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, and Psychological Bulletin, and in leading practitioner-oriented publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Business Insider, and Scientific American.
