Biography

Ying Fang obtained her Ph.D in 1987 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Between 1986 and 1987, she studied with Prof Charles Goodhart in International Finance, at the London School of Economics. Dr Ying Fang has over 20 years of experience working in the International financial markets, starting with Barclays Bank in London as a financial economist 1988. She was Managing Director of China investment banking for Caspian Securities based in Beijing and HongKong. She was a founding CEO of Evolution Securities China 2003 to 2007 (London, HongKong, Shanghai), and a Strategic Advisor for Lansdowne Partners, a London based hedge fund from 2008 to  2013. She has been a visiting professor for Peking University and LingNan College of SunYat-Sen University in Guangzhou since2014.Ying Fang was a founding committee member of the China Economic Association in the UK in 1988, and also a founding committee member of the China Task Force at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House (London) in 1995.
