Forum: Leadership in Literature

The history of management study has seen quite some gurus, spearheaded by James Gardner March, foray into literary works and the lives of the authors for inspirations of leadership. The heroes and their writer-creators tend to be perfect epitome of leadership, demonstrating great dreams, tenacious actions, and outstanding influences.

At the upcoming PKU Cross-Cultural Leadership Forum on November 13^th, the Chinese classic A Dream of Red Mansions and its author Mr. Cao Xueqin will pass under the managerial microscope. Upon the invitation of Prof. John Yang, Co-Dean of BiMBA, Mr. Zhou Ling will speak on the book’s lessons on dream, devotion and happiness – integral elements of leadership.

A renowned scholar in the study of A Dream of Read Mansions , Mr. Zhou has been involved in some landmark productions of the book, including a hit TV series in 1987 and a musical.
