Chengze Career Lecture: Start Your Business amid Uncertainties

A great number of companies and individuals are confronted with the enormous and hard-to-fathomed challenges posed by the pandemic and economic environment uncertainties. Across professional stages and industries, a new normal seems to have taken grip of the workplace in which ‘involution’ and ‘lying flat’ are infused with stress, confusion, and even loss of direction.

 

How to find meaning and joy in work? How to rise above the much-feared career crisis once one crosses the 35-year-old threshold? What can be done to circumvent pitfalls when moving to new jobs? In what ways can self-value and self-competitiveness be unlocked amid tectonic shifts in industries and external environments? What new skills are indispensable for the workplace in the digital age? How to take the first steps in launching a startup?...

 

To enable working professionals to ‘own’ the workplace and grow in maturity, the MBA Forum is launching Chengze Career, a series of seminars featuring talks and lectures by outstanding alumni of the NSD. We hope that it will not only add to the career capabilities of our MBA students and alumni but also benefit young people at large – in line with the social significance and value embedded in the pursuits of the MBA programs at the NSD.

About Speaker

Mr. Gao Xiaoying is founder of Putriumph Fluid Technology, 2004 PKU NSD full-time MBA, and Career Mentor of NSD’s MBA programs. Upon graduating from the MBA program, he joined the marketing department of GE Energy and was promoted to the position of Marketing Director within two years. In 2009, Mr. Gao joined Dow Chemical Company to head its Asia-Pacific marketing department. From 2013 to 2017, he was General Manager of Pall China’s industrial arm. In 2018, he founded Putriumph Fluid Technology which specializes in the treatment of gases and liquids.
