The policy of delaying retirement has attracted widespread attention in an era of constant change. This major shift will undoubtedly reshape our retirement model, bringing with it a range of challenges and opportunities. We are honoured to invite Professor Lei Xiaoyan from the National School of Development of Peking University to provide us with an in-depth analysis of the trends in elderly care in the context of delayed retirement.

About the lecturer

LEI Xiaoyan, Professor of Economics of PKU, NSD; Director of the Centre for Healthy Aging and Development of PKU; Deputy Director of the MOE-PKU Centre for Human Capital and National Policy; MOE Cheung-Kong Scholar Chair Professor of Economics; Peking University Boya Chair Professor; Co-Editor of the Journal of Economics of Aging; Editorial Board of SSM - Health Systems.

Professor Lei holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Renmin University of China, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has been teaching at the National School of Development, Peking University since 2007.

Professor Lei's research interests include labour economics, health economics and applied econometrics. Dozens of her academic research papers have been published in top international journals such as Review of Economics and Statistics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Human Resources and top domestic journals such as Economic Research Journal, China Economic Quarterly.
