First Chinese to get Caballeros de Yuste of Spain

Recently, for the important contributions made to the Sino-Spain cultural communication, Liang Tang, president of Ossen, and also the former 2000EMBA student of BiMBA, was honorably awarded the Caballeros de Yuste (Royal Knight Medal of Spain) by the King of Spain.

 

He is the first Chinese to be granted the honor since the establishment of the Medal 400 years ago.

 

The awarding ceremony was hold in the well-renowned Monastery of Yuste. Delegated by the King of Spain, the Chairman of the Knight Regiment awarded Dr Tang the Golden Medal, Badge, Ribbon and Certificate with the presence of the influential.

 

Caballeros de Yuste is the highest honor issued by the Spanish Royal Family, which was established by Charles V, who was the King of Spain, Holy Roman Emperor and Ruler of many other European kingdoms at that time, in the Monastery of Yuste in 16th century.

 

Although reining so many sovereignties, Chales V preferred to be considered as the most eminent knight, revealing the honor of being a Knight in Spain.

Despite the royal family members of Spain or other countries, the special award is mainly granted to the influential including the Commander-in-chief, high-ranking officials, Nobel-price winners and other foreign ambassadors, who have made special contributions to Spain.

 

In the middle ages of Europe, knights were also called Baronet, who were the symbol of bravery and loyalty, embodiment of heroism. In the literature tribute to the knights such as Chanson de Roland of France, The Nibelungenlied of Germany, knights had been depicted as refined and courteous, loyal to love, adhere to credibility, who were the incarnation of morality and strength. Besides, they were also described as the versatile talents. It had been said that knights were required to master seven skills as: equitation, swimming, casting, fence, hunting, chess and poetry.

 

With the development of the society, knights are considered as the noble bearers of superior responsibilities.
