My Memory for the Days in Peking University

Apr 18-2013

Distinguished teachers and my dear schoolfellows,

Good afternoon! My name is Jizhu Kim majored in EMBA of Grade 2006. Unconsciously, it has been two years since I entered BiMBA. It was due to the kindly help from every well-beloved professors, classmates and friends present that I had finally gone smoothly through my thesis competitive examination and got my diploma.

I knew nearly nothing about the Chinese language as well as the new environment at the very beginning for the first time in Beijing at the end of August, 2006. It was really a hard time for me. It was out of imagination for the experiences of being a journalist for the live broadcast in the midweek and returning to Beijing for study on the weekend fortnightly. At present, my dream has eventually come true. I benefit a lot from the process to overcome troubles and difficulties in quick succession and the dissimilarity between the Korean and the Chinese culture.

My success was impossible without your generous assistance. My devout acknowledgement should be firstly delivered to my honorific tutors. Professor Lin Yifu, Professor Hu Dayuan and Yang Zhuang, thank you for your earnest teaching by both verbal instruction and personal examples. It was your edification that introduced me lots of information on Chinese Economy and taught me a good lesson what a worthy master truly meant. My dear teachers, Miss Yao Shanshan, Miss Ma Hongli, it was your scrupulous arrangement and self-giving dedication that honored me great help and self-confidence.

Wholehearted gratitude should be once again given to all of my classmates in Grade 2006 for the lifetime indelibility of your generosity, friendship and attendance. We are all friends and families.

Now I’ve come back to the locale in the general charge of the affairs such as diplomacy, national defense as well as unification. I was also honored to participate in talks between North Korea and regional powers on ending Pyongyang's atomic weapons program held in Beijing (the Six-party Interlocution) before long. On one hand, I enjoyed the homework-free weekend and needn’t fly to Beijing for my class any more, while on the other hand, I felt sorry for lack of opportunities for the intercourse with my beloved professors, teachers and classmates regularly.

The philosophy “the Syncretism of Episteme and Practice” was highlighted by the Chinese ancient scholar Wong Yang in Ming Dynasty. I also put the knowledge I learnt in EMBA in Peking University for two years into practice. As my opus designed for graduation, I established the Telelecture on Chinese combined with the cooperation of Korean Daily Newspaper and the College of Foreign Languages in Peking University. The Daily Newspaper is responsible for the collection of Korean students who are eager to study Chinese, while Peking University mainly takes charges of the brand management and the layout of the books and teaching materials. The telephone station is located around the Peking University where some distinguished teachers recommended by the university can teach Chinese to Korean students via the network telephone. The integrated advantages, such as the sounded reputation of Peking University, the good command of marketing expansion and favorable prestige of Korean Daily Newspaper and the highly qualified teachers from Peking University will surely shape the Teleculture on Chinese into the most competitively international business pattern in Korea.

Here I present my graduation paper named the Leadership and Corporation Management of the Chairmen from the Four Major Korean Enterprises which probes into the entrepreneurs and culture in Korean society as a gift for you all. It will be comparatively easier to master the economic situation if we comprehend the characteristics of the enterprises in one country. I hope my thesis could do some contribution during your communication or cooperation with any Korean undertaking in the future and serve as the reference for anyone who is well concerned about the cooperation leadership.

Buddha said that congregants must leave; decedents must revive and quick cannot but die. I will remember you all for ever and can’t wait for the day to meet again.

Best wishes to your good health and blessedness to your families!
