National School of Development at PKU Founds Alumni Association in Liaoning

On November 5, Professor Hu Dayuan, Chinese Dean of Beijing International MBA at Peking University (BiMBA), and Director Liu Changyan of Alumni and Career Development visited Shenyang and joined the local graduates in attending the founding ceremony of National School of Development (NSD) Liaoning Alumni Association.

On the afternoon that day, Professor Hu, 2006 EMBA graduate Fu Yanbin and Wang Shouliang, 2008 EMBA graduate Li Yingjian, visited Shenyang Machine Tool Group. 2001 full-time MBA graduate Guan Xin, vice president of the Group, introduced to the guests the history, achievements, and future plans of the company. In recent years, the Group has been the leader in domestic market and keeps making progress in the world market. Its strategic goal is to reach 30 billion yuan of operation scale by 2015 and to be number one in the world. The visit impressed the guests and made them proud as well.

On the evening, the founding ceremony of NSD Liaoning Alumni Association was held at Liaoning Zhengxie Hotel and the participants include Associate Dean and BiMBA Chinese Dean Hu Dayuan, Director Liu Changyan of Alumni and Career Development, and NSD graduates in Liaoning.
Professor Hu made a speech at the ceremony. He thanked all the participants and introduced the Institute for Law and Economics at the NSD, including the faculties and programs, as well as the strategic role that alumni play for the development of the organization. He congratulated on the founding of NSD Liaoning Alumni Association and hoped that it would promote cooperation and communication among graduates in the province. He noticed that the NSD graduates were good at analyzing the impact of macro economy on the market, which is of vital importance to the leader of a company. He then urged the graduates working at the state-owned enterprises as well as private and foreign companies should keep a close eye on the changes of Chinese macro economy and understand the market rules so as to be a qualified leader.

NSD Liaoning Alumni Association adopts council system and all the members are NSD graduates and students, including MBA, EMBA, master, and double major programs. 2008 EMBA graduate Li Yingjian was elected the first council president and he said he was greatly honored to have the trust of the school and alumni in Liaoning. He said it was his responsibility now to lead the team and to serve all the members. The mission of the association is to build a platform to facilitate the communications among graduates and with both the NSD and BiMBA at Peking University.

The graduates said they welcomed and would support the association and believed that it would grow strong as time went by. 2006 EMBA graduate Zhao Qingfeng said he thanked PKU for giving them a promising future and for building a base for them to communicate with each other. He said he was willing to do things for other graduates. 2001full-time MBA graduate Guan Xin welcomed others to visit Shenyang Machine Tool Group and he would do whatever he can to help the association. 2000 EMBA graduate Fu Yanbin said a strong association would help more members and he would make his contributions.
At the banquet after the ceremony, Professor Hu toasted for the founding and the future of the association. He was surrounded by former students and they chatted away an otherwise cold winter evening.
