Dean Yao Yang's New Year Speech
Jan 17-2014
In the Dean’s new year speech, Prof. Yao Yang said 2014 will be the 20th anniversary of the National School of Development at Peking University, another milestone just like the 15th anniversary of BiMBA in 2013. For 2014, BiMBA has three new pieces of news.
A new Dean – Professor Zhang Litook over as Dean of the National School of Development, bringing with him a sense of energy and action. BiMBA has been reenergized with enhanced brand promotion and marketing all over China - from Chengdu to Xi’an, from Shenyang to Guangzhou, BiMBA could be seen everywhere. Our target is not only improved influence and cohesion of BiMBA, but also supporting changes in the EMBA curriculum setting.
A new campus – Chengze Garden, this long-awaited campus welcomed its ground-breaking ceremony with one short movie presenting everyone the wonder of the future Chengze Garden. BiMBA’s culture and spirit can be felt in every corner, from the large basketball court, lecture hall, the newly built sunken garden, to the classic garden. Dean Yao noted that Chengze Garden will cover ten times the construction area of Langrun Garden, and provide the National School of Development at Peking University top class teaching facilities among China’s business schools and internationally upon its completion in two years, which also greatly improves its fundamental value.
New Logo – Peking University, National School of Development, and BiMBA, these three elements, are integrated in the new logo, a symbol for the brand new international image of BiMBA and a reflection of our strong will for integrating our pedagogical resources.
In addition, Yao Yang also focused on the Alumni Foundation about to be established with two outstanding features: First, the Alumni Foundation is managed by the alumni themselves, with fundss used for activities for students and alumni, such as the 9th Gobi Challenge; Second, the Alumni Foundation will build the “Alumni Wall” and the “Alumni Boulevard”, which means that alumni that contribute a lot to the foundation can not only participate in the management committee, but also have their names marked on the Alumni Wall and the Alumni Boulevard, and join commemorative activities of all types.
With the combined efforts of students, teachers and alumni, we can make the BiMBA dream come true!
With students and teachers making effort in the same direction and students and alumni cooperation for the same goal, BiMBA would certainly realize more dreams in the new year!
