Prof.Zhang Li:BiMBA’s Unique Characteristics

Dean Zhang Li believes BiMBA’s new MBA students have made a wise choice, as BiMBA has a unique advantage.  Firstly,  the NSD is difficult to be matched and impossible to be replaced in its position as Chinese development and economic think-tank. Secondly, BiMBA has a first-rate faculty. BiMBA alumni are spread throughout many countries, areas, industries and fields – joining BiMBA is joining one big family. Dean Zhang hopes new candidates will integrate well into the BiMBA network – Once BiMBA, Always BiMBA!

BiMBA Dean Zhang Li:

Dear Prof. Lin, dear Prof. Borrence, dear colleagues, and dear new students, good morning.  

It’s such a great pleasure for us to sit here to celebrate the opening ceremony for our new students.

First, as associate dean of NSD and dean of BiMBA, I would like to thank you all for selecting BiMBA as the school to conduct your MBA studies. Second, I would like to congratulate you for selecting BiMBA as MBA school.

Actually I have two reasons to congratulate you for selecting BiMBA. First, it is because of BiMBA’s uniqueness. I am sure most of you have already seen the Lang Run Garden. It’s very unique and beautiful. The same as Lang Run Garden, BiMBA is very unique. It is unique for the NSD’s think tank position in China’s economic research and China’s economic policy making and economic development. It is unique for it has the largest number of world-class leading economist in China and  the first class management  professors in China. And it is also unique for the very professional stuff team we have. And it is also unique for the curriculum mixing China and the West.

Second, the reason why I congratulate you for selecting BiMBA is because you have joined a large family. So far, in total, we have more than 10,000 double degree and students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University and all the top universities in Beijing. So far, we have more than several hundred graduate students, masters or PhD students in NSD. Please be noticed it is very hard to be admitted by NSD as a master and Ph.D. student. And each year one out of more than thirty will be admitted by this program. And so far we have more than 1,500 EMBA students from various industries and regions. Besides,  we have more than 2000 both full time and part time students. Personally I think actually it is an elite clubnot only an MBA school. Let alone we have thousands of alumnus students from our EDP program and other types of training  program nationwide.

So you have joined a large family. And this family is full of freedom, equality, trust and care. BiMBA family has this  gene. If we look back 20 years ago, 6 young economists from the States came back to China to set up CCER. Personally, as far as I know, from then on, not a single professor, if I could remember, left this compound due to non-academic reasons. Our stuff loves this garden because it is full of appreciation of each other’s personality and achievement. I think it is also the gene for BiMBA. So that’s why I congratulate you for making this absolutely right decision.

Now our professional team and our faculty members are ready to provide the best courses and the best student services. Our excellent partner Vlerick, their faculty members and their team are ready. Of course,  this partnership also makes our program unique.

So thank you all again for selecting BiMBA. And I am very confident that both of school and you  will make BiMBA an even brighter brand. Please always keep this sentence in mind: Once, BiMBA; Always BiMBA.
