BiMBA Announces its Scholarships

Begin the next chapter of your life and realize your dreams at Peking University in 2018. The MBA programme of the National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University boasts a faculty of renowned Chinese, US, UK and European professors, a world-leading programme, a one-to-one career mentor program, and a diversified group of elite alumni in business, governmental and academic sectors.


The scholarship programme and application for the 2018 MBA programme of the National School of Development at Peking University has commenced. Here, you will become the best you can be along with your talented classmates.


The National School of Development at Peking University has always adhered to its unique philosophy of “the Peking University spirit, social empathy, national development and global perspective”, and been guided by the spirit of “East-West integration and unity of knowledge and practice”. With a high-end national think tank as leverage, NSD has nurtured numerous excellent talent over the last two decades. Many of its graduates have become key players in their respective sectors, and many more have become outstanding members of the business world. NSD alumni are wise administrators of strong social responsibility, and have extended NSD’s philosophy and empathy to their work. They have established the NSD Alumni Fund, and have continued to give back to their alma mater. NSD’s education philosophy is also highly commended and well recognized by the public and renowned companies, which have generously helped and donated to the founding of this school. In 2016, FaShu Foundation donated RMB100 million to NSD to help the school recruit more excellent professors in global economics and management. In 2017, Beijing Mulan Charitable Foundation donated RMB300 million to the school to support the nurturing of excellent women entrepreneurs in China. We are grateful for the generous support of our alumni and entrepreneurs. They have enabled the school to better focus on research and teaching as well as to bring in more outstanding talent, and have given our students peace of mind so that they can better focus on learning and growing.


Each year, NSD offers newly admitted MBA students with excellent conduct and academic performance a range of attractive solutions to aid in financing costs such as scholarship application opportunities and education loans so as to discover, support and encourage the most outstanding students with the most potential from across the globe , and to provide more possibilities and incentives to help outstanding candidates complete this world class MBA programme. The 2018 MBA scholarship programme will continue the unique philosophy and spiritual guidance to which NSD has always adhered. It will set up scholarship opportunities that are more diverse and innovative and that will encourage applicants from more sectors and regions. These will benefit a maximum of more than 70% of full-time students and 20% of part-time students. 

 


We are also very proud of and would like to express our deepest gratitude to the NSD Alumni Fund, people from all walks of life, charitable foundations as well as renowned international companies for their strong support and generous donations. Scholarship opportunities that benefit from these types of donations can help the best applicants join the NSD MBA program. We expect the MBA students from the 2018 class to benefit from the teachings of renowned NSD teachers and guidance from the school, and ultimately become business leaders and pillars of society. We also look forward to their continued support of the school and giving back to society.


 

We have specially added a number of new scholarship programmes this year, and look forward to attracting more outstanding talent from different industries and regions:



The Mulan Leadership Scholarship for Women has been specially set up for female applicants with superior leadership qualities or potential for such . Peking University was the first university in China to allow women to attend lectures and to enroll as students. NSD has always ranked first in terms of educating female economists, professionals and entrepreneurs.


As an advocate of equality between men and women, the Mulan series of scholarships have been specially established for all applicants, who are successful entrepreneurs, or who have made outstanding contribution to public welfare, or strong leadership qualities.


The Social Welfare Development Scholarship has been specially set up to encourage full-time applicants who have a strong sense of social responsibility, and have made outstanding contributions to public welfare or public welfare innovation.


The Science Elite Scholarship is to encourage applicants who are in the science space who have made relatively large contributions to science, and who hope to drive social advancement by studying at BiMBA and applying their scientific research achievements to society. The maximum of these two scholarships awarded will not exceed the value of half to full scholarship . 

 

A Belt and Road Scholarship has also been specially set up. Since 2016, NSD has administered the globally influential Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD); more than 90 senior government officials from 39 different countries are now enrolled in this programme. The ISSCAD is a key support of China’s Belt and Road strategy, as well as a bridge and model linking China to the world. NSD encourages more outstanding business talent from Belt and Road countries, or excellent full-time applicants who are committed to the development of Belt and Road countries to join this program. The maximum scholarship awarded will not exceed the value of half tuition.


The Langrun Commute Scholarship is specially set up for 2018 part-time applicants who do not work in Beijing (more than a four-hour commute by high-speed rail) to provide them financial assistance to commute and to help them achieve their Peking University dream.


As in the past, we have maintained the Langrun Elite Scholarship which has been set up for full-time students for years to encourage applicants with strong learning ability, high GMAT/GRE scores, and excellent combined written and oral exam results. In addition, we have also retained the Diversity Contribution Scholarship for applicants with outstanding comprehensive qualities, excellent industry background, overseas study and working experience, as well as special talents. In 2018, the maximum scholarship awarded will not exceed the value of half. Meanwhile, we will continue with the Entrepreneurship Scholarship which was set up to encourage applicants with entrepreneurial experience or potential. Elsewhere, the Rising Star Scholarship which was established to encourage applicants who have three to five years’ working experience with intermediate to advanced industry qualification certificates, and vast future development potential will also be offered.
