The 10th edition of the China Economic Forum was successfully held in New York on January 10th. The forum was founded by NSD (formerly China Center for Economic Research - CCER). Prof. Justin Lin, NSD Honorary Dean, and Prof. Yao Yang, NSD Dean, and some other Chinese scholars and representatives were joined by over 300 participants at the event this year, including Mr. Steve Orlins, Director of the National Committee on US-China Relations, Mrs. Cathrine Mann, Chief Economist of HSBC, and Mr. Nicholas Lardy, senior researcher of the Petersen Institute for International Economics. Speeches and dialogues centered on US-China relationships and possible solutions to the trade war, as well as economic prospect and financial reforms in the two countries. On the previous day, a dialogue behind closed door was held to discuss some of the hottest issues of the two economies. The dialogue was started in 2010 and takes place twice a year, alternating between Beijing and New York. It is formulated as a non-official dialogue that aims to provide inputs to official ones.
