Chinese Most Cited Researchers

A total of 1,899 Chinese scholars from 229 domestic universities and research institutes made it to the 2018 Chinese Most Cited Researchers Ranking released by Elsevier, a publisher, on January 17th. Of the 100 scholars of Peking University on the list, six were from NSD, including: Prof. Justin Lin, Prof. Zhang Xiaobo, and Prof. Zhao Yaohui (economy, quantitative economics, and finance); Prof. Huang Yiping and Prof. Zeng Yi (social sciences); and Prof. Tang Fangfang (business, management and accounting). Elsevier based the ranking on its Scopus database, which contains more than 20,000 peer-review journals, including over 500 Chinese ones. Prof. Justin Lin is one of the founders of NSD and has published more than 20 book and over 100 thesis papers. Pro. Zhang Xiaobo is ranked among the world’s top 5% economists by IDEAS, the largest bibliographic database dedicated to economics and available freely on the Internet. Prof. Zhao Yaohui heads China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), which tracks and analyzes the aging issue in China to promote cross-disciplinary research. Prof. Huang Yiping was a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China (the central bank) from June 2015 to June 2018, and is currently a member of the IMF’s External Advisory Group on Surveillance. Prof. Zeng Yi, a world-renowned scholar in demographic economics, was elected a member of The World Academy of Sciences in 2018. Prof. Tang Fangfang has won several awards of teaching excellence and currently works on the panels of a handful of research funds and international journals. NSD is where the most cited scholars teach the most exciting business education in China.
