Gao Kao and Education’s Effects

The most important step in 40 years of reform and opening up was the resumption of Gao Kao (China's college entrance exam), says Prof. Chen Chunhua in her recent speech on the occasion of the opening of Yasha Adventure training camp. She has been researching into the role and effects of education over the last six years, believing that education is one of the key capabilities that enable the creation of unknowns, e.g. consumer demands. Now Dean of BiMBA Business School and a well-respected scholar in management and leadership, Prof. Chen is most grateful for her university education, which has impacted on all aspects of her life. One should achieve self-transformation through university education, she said: learn professional skills; internalize societal cultures; realize self-understanding and take on societal roles. Such abilities are the driving forces for one to become future-oriented and never stop creating and developing.
