Chen Chunhua: Adapting to Changes

On June 29, the NSD will hold the 2019 commencement ceremony. Brimming with best wishes for the departing students, Prof. Chen Chunhua, BiMBA Dean, has penned a long article to offer suggestions to the graduates.

Graduation marks the students' transition from 'learner' to 'value creator'  – someone who is capable of putting knowledge into effective work, she says. Sharing in the joys of the departing students, Prof. Chen encourages them to fill life with meanings through limitless creations. Her advice: Adapting to changes is the single most important prerequisite for future success in life and work.

To do so, five capabilities are needed: Stay open-minded and embrace changes; Find your partner (much more important than identify your competitors); Hone your learning skills to stay on top of problems and uncover opportunities; Keep your reading habit; And master self-management (of time, goals, action and daily life)
