Ageless Music for Youthfulness

Jul 09-2019

A summer concert was held on June 29th, right after the 2019 commencement. Bands consisting of current students and alumni took to an open-air stage at NSD. In the audience were the new graduates (freshly minted alumni), alumni and students. Besides the "by the student, of the student, for the student" nature of the concert, a touch of family was added as the children of some alumni and students were invited to the bash.

Mr. Wang Xianqing, Director of NSD's PR Department, made the welcome speech and said that music is a way for the alumni and the students to express their love of NSD, and music also facilitates the integration of new and old alumni.

Ms. Shi Jing of the Alumni Department gave special thanks to MBA PT13 class and members of the bands for putting in extra efforts to make it happen. She pointed out that NSD will have the new campus Cheng Ze Garden next year, but Lang Run Garden will keep eliciting special feelings.

The House is Rockin' set the tone for a night of over 30 English and Chinese songs, ending with We Are the Champions. Not just champion in its literal sense; what NSD champions is love and contribution to the nation through research and hard work. Undoubtedly, concerted efforts by the faculty, the students and the alumni are a prerequisite.
