Chen Chunhua at APEC CEO Summit

Prof. Chen Chunhua, Dean of BiMBA Business School, attended the APEC CEO Summit China Forum and shared her views on digitalized industrialization and future-facing leadership.

 

The forum was held in Hangzhou City on July 21-22, with the theme “Creating an Era with Prosperous New Industries”. Major topics included digital economy, 5G IoT, and Fintech.

Prof. Chen joined a panel discussion on the momentum and path of new industries in digitalized age. She said the digitalized age has moved from its first phase, marked by the appearance of a plethora of e-commerce platforms and share-economy companies, to the next phase where digitalization and industries deeply integrate. This is of unparalleled significance for the transformation of the Chinese economy. The entrepreneurs should embrace symbiosis so as to build profound connections with users through the Internet and to better align with partners along the value chains.

 

Prof. Chen was also invited to give a lecture to the members of APEC Youth Committee, including some of the most prominent young business leaders in China. She started with the traditional framework of leadership and moved on to dissect future leadership, which comprises five key words making the acronym CODES – Creativity, Open-Mindedness, Dedication, Empathy, and Sagacity.
