The 2021 Peking University National School of Development (NSD) EMBA program application is open to Mainland China applicants.

The National School of Development at Peking University (NSD) is home to one of China’s finest EMBA programs. Since its establishment in 2000, the NSD EMBA program is embedded in one of China’s most prestigious think tanks in both economics and management fields. Immersed in this unique academic environment with highly esteemed thinkers and doers, entrepreneurs learn to bridge theory and practice, capture trends and patterns in China’s fast-growing economy, respond to changes efficiently, and create valuable opportunities in the business world. Curriculum

Since launching the EMBA program, NSD has dedicated 21 years to fine-tuning our core curriculum and developing unique electives. Our program structure is composed of systematic knowledge, cultural impact, prescient judgement, innovative technologies, and a global perspective, featuring five clusters: introspection, foresight, innovation, collaboration, and action.

 

Two Campuses in PKU

Langrun Garden and Chengze Garden are both homes to NSD EMBA program in PKU campus. The best-preserved royal family residences over 200 years and the landmarks of PKU, both gardens witness the development of Peking University from its birth to driving the dramatic progress of the country.

 

Alumni Network

NSD academic programs include Economics Undergraduate, Double Major Undergraduate, Economics Master and PhD., MBA, EMBA, Doctor of Professional Studies (DPS), executive development (EDP) programs, and Mulan Academy for female entrepreneurs. NSD is also the base for the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD), which empowers high-ranking government officials and international organizations from developing nations to achieve their potential and pursue success.

I. Program objectives

The EMBA program aims to develop entrepreneurs and senior executives with contemporary management knowledge, strong innovation, great leadership, mastering the dynamics in international economic and technological development, and adapting to the international competition with strategic minds and visionary decisions.

 

II. Program Schedule

Program schedule: Two years starting in September 2021.

Course schedule: Core curriculum: Four days a month, every other weekend or four consecutive days on campus. Electives: on-campus courses on weekend apart from core curriculum days; off-campus field courses covering weekdays and weekends.

Location: National School of Development, Peking University

Language of instruction: Mandarin Chinese

 

III. Academic Qualification and Degree

Peking University will confer the Graduation Certificate and Degree Certificate to candidates upon the completion of all credit courses and the thesis defense in line with the Peking University Charter.

 

IV. Application Eligibility

Applicants are required to hold a qualified academic degree from an accredited junior college, four-year university, or postgraduate institution.

 

Candidates, who hold a Bachelor degree from a four-year university, are required to have at least eight years of full-time work experience after graduation, including more than five years of middle or senior managerial experience.

 

Candidates, who hold an academic degree from a junior college in China, are required to have at least ten years of full-time work experience after graduation, including more than five years of senior managerial experience.

 

V. Admission Method

The admission selection aims at evaluating the candidates’ comprehensive qualification and management potential. Application review includes the application materials and campus interview. Candidates who pass the campus interview are qualified to register the EMBA Entrance Examination in the National Entrance Examination for Postgraduate (NEEP). The enrollment is based on the entrance examination scores. Peking University does not accept candidate transfer from or to other admissions institutions.

 

VI. Application Procedures

1. Application materials

Please register on the NSD EMBA application website

(http://apply.pku-nsd.com/emba/account/login), and follow the instructions to complete the online application form. The following application materials are required to upload to the online application system.

  • Two letters of recommendation (Mandarin Chinese and English are both accepted.)
  • A copy of graduation certificate and degree certificate
  • Verification Report of China Higher Education Qualification Certificate issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE)
  • A copy of the ID card
  • A copy of the business card
  • A copy of ID photo

2.  Preliminary Assessment

The admission committee will do a preliminary assessment based on the application materials submitted. Qualified candidates will be invited for a campus admission interview.

3. Admission Interview

The candidate will attend the campus admission interview with the original copy of the graduation certificate, degree certificate, Verification Report of China Higher Education Qualification Certificate, and the valid ID.

4.  Application to the EMBA Entrance Examination in NEEP

Qualified candidates will complete an online application for the EMBA Entrance Examination in NEEP on the National Postgraduate Admission Information Registry, MOE (https://yz.chsi.com.cn) between October 10 and October 31, 2020.

5.  EMBA Entrance Examination in NEEP

In late December, candidates will take the EMBA Entrance Examination in NEEP at the Peking University. The specific time and date of the examination will be notified by the Ministry of Education.
