The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) has officially anounced its list of 2020-2022 C3E International Ambassadors. Among the 22 newly anointed, five are ladies from China, including Ms. Wang Mu, a student of the PKU-Vlerick MBA Class of 2019.

The C3E, or Clean Energy Education Empowerment, is an international initiative launched by the CEM in 2010 with the aim of improving women’s engagement, leadership and achievement in the clean energy sector. Every year, its activities draw over 1,000 outstanding women from governments, research institutes and enterprises worldwide.

C3E International Ambassadors are assumed by senior professional women, including government officials, industry experts, thought leaders, and business leaders fighting for gender equality. Since its inception, CEM member countries have designated a total of over 60 women ambassadors from 11 countries, with a serving term of two years. They advocate gender equality in the clean energy sector, organize and participate in international cooperation and dialogues, and push for clean energy transformation.

Ms. Wang Mu works for the Chinese Renewable Energy Society as the deputy head of its wind power committee’s international cooperation department. She’s also secretary of CEM’s China liaison office.

Ms. Wang Mu has had nearly ten years’ experience in the consulting and management of international projects in the clean energy sector. She focuses on technological innovation, market demand and sustainable development of business in the sector. Her credentials include leading the CEM-oriented strategic research of the Ministry of Science and Technology, working as communication expert for the ADB’s first low-carbon urban project, and consulting for the Danish embassy’s Beijing-Copenhagen sustainable urban development strategic partnership project.
