Sep 30-2020

The NSD has teamed up with PKU Entrepreneur’s Training Camp, a not-for-profit platform affiliated with the PKU Alumni Association, to launch a boot camp for young entrepreneurs, the first edition of which ran from August 29 to 30.

In the opening ceremony, Ms. Lucy Liu, Assistant Dean of the NSD, said that this was the first offline course by the NSD against the backdrop of the pandemic and hoped that the participants would make the most of it.

The boot camp, called New Youth Entrepreneurship School, offers a wide range of courses on innovation and start-ups to help NSD’s MBA students grasp the latest business trends, understand the inner logics of business models, and put classroom knowledge into practice. The NSD and the PKU Entrepreneur’s Training Camp have long enjoyed tight cooperation and the boot camp is another solid step forward.

The students learned through critical thinking and interactions with mentors. They presented the business performance of their respective start-ups and received insightful comments from the mentors, who are entrepreneurs and investors with proven track records. The mentors also made speeches on practical methods for telling a good start-up story, using digitalization to empower clients, and start-up opportunities under the context of China’s domestic circulation.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Wang Jian, CEO of PKU Entrepreneur’s Training Camp, and Mr. Kelvin Yu, Director of the NSD Career Development Department and MBA program Senior Admission Manager.
