Nov 25-2021

Since its inception in November 2017, the Mentorship Program at BiMBA has enjoyed the active participation of outstanding entrepreneurs who have assisted many students to take one giant step forward in their lives and careers. On November 14th, a ceremony was held at Cheng Ze Garden to celebrate four years of companionship, personal growth, and symbiosis.

Prof. Chen Chunhua, Dean of BiMBA, says in her speech that the ultimate goal of the Mentorship Program is not about students taking advantage of mentors’ assistance to do better in workplaces, but about exploring and assimilating the immense power of mentors’ characters and introspection so as to make continuous growth and education the most important part of personal development.

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic clearly shows that the traditional way of living, typified by competitions and care for only individual interests, is itself an aggravating element of problems, rather than a solution. She says that a brand-new world requires that new consciousness, fresh world views, and novel methods are needed for the re-construction of personal life and organizations alike. She explains that genuine growth means overcoming limitations in the innermost part of one’s heart and re-shaping them as new boundaries for growth.

Some mentors and their mentees also take to the stage to share their experience and thoughts. When Gong Guangyao selected Ms. Liu Wenhong as his mentor, he didn’t expect that his startup would eventually receive investment from Stream Hill Angels, a private equity fund of which Ms. Liu is a partner. Ms. Jiang Hua, a mentor, elaborates on her criteria for mentees and her efforts to assist their growth. As an experienced investor in the TMT industry, she also advises the students to remain humble and open-minded, keep learning and read voraciously, and cultivate active and positive values.
