Jan 13-2022

On January 9th, the NSD and Xiaomi Group signed an agreement with the aim of generating symbiotic innovations and implementing the national guidelines for the fusion of industry, university, and research.

Based on the framework for strategic cooperation, the two parties planned to undertake profound collaborations in talent cultivation, corporate visits, educational endowment, and academic research.

Mr. Fan Baoqun, Assistant Dean of the NSD and Executive Associate Dean of BiMBA, said that the NSD, with its commitment to promoting societal advancement through its combination of pedagogy, research and think-tank, was connected with Xiaomi in several ways. By fusing the best of the East and the West, its BiMBA Business School led business education in China. Xiaomi was dedicated to changing people’s life and facilitating the overall upgrading of China’s IT industry while striving to become a global company of great reputation. He believed the two sides would create a win-win symbiosis by leveraging their extensive knowledge of the fusion between tradition and modernity, China and the world, as well as the past and the future.

Mr. Cui Baoqiu, Vice President of Xiaomi Group, commended the NSD on its management innovations and cultivation of business leaders and managers with global horizon and social care. He said that in 2021, Xiaomi Group invited Prof. Chen Chunhua and Prof. Gong Yuzhen to give lectures for managers of Xiaomi and both were hugely popular. Xiaomi had set up its own corporate university and initiated a specific project (‘Project Flame’) to enhance the leadership and development patterns of its managers. Mr. Cui believed that BiMBA’s philosophy and teaching methods dovetailed with the aspirations of Xiaomi, thereby providing a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two.

After the signing ceremony, held at the NSD’s new campus Cheng Ze Garden, Prof. Zhang Li gave a marketing lecture to 45 senior managers of Xiaomi Group.
