2023 NSD Career Fair Elevates Both Employers and Aspiring Students
Jun 13-2023
On May 31, 2023, the NSD’s first on-campus job fair of the year was held in Chengze Garden. The event was organized by the NSD’s Career Development Department and attended by more than 100 business representatives from such industries as pharmaceutical, finance, education, consulting, technology, and internet.
The participating employers had full-time jobs and trainee positions for this year’s graduates, as well as internships for next year’s. The wide-ranging positions included financial analytics, investment and capital-raising, data analytics, product development, marketing and sales, operations, corporate president’s office, and teaching and pedagogical research.
Uniqlo sought this year’s graduate to take up management jobs at its headquarters, while Taikang Group came with over 40 vacancies, spread throughout the organization from insurance to elderly care and asset management. Li-Ning joined the fair with close to 30 job vacancies ranging from operation analysis, marketing and planning, product planning, data research and applications, and HRBP.
Recruitment managers at Airbus, Jia Duo Bao (a drinks company), KPMG, Uniqlo, and Taikang Group said that the job fair provided an excellent platform and the job-seeking students demonstrated outstanding professional competence and comprehensive quality. Through the fair, they acquired better understanding of job-seekers’ characteristics and aspirations, which would help the companies to draw sharper recruitment profiles.
Over 100 NSD students, including from full-time and part-time MBA and some other programs, participated in the fair. A preliminary tally showed that they each targeted four to five positions and submitted three copies of resume.
The fair enabled the student to be face to face with employers and conduct in-depth communications. Not only did they obtain a profound understanding of job requirements, they also got to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses, thereby priming themselves for future endeavors. Many students also appreciated the systematic learning at the NSD, which helped greatly with the job-seeking process and generated a wider range of high-quality career opportunities.
