Prof. Huang Yiping Attends Premier’s Symposium
On October 13, Premier Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Communist Party of China Central Committee, presided over a symposium on the economic situation with the attendance of economists and entrepreneurs. Prof. Huang Yiping, Deputy Dean of the NSD, PKU Jinguang Chair Professor, and Director of PKU Institute of Digital Finance, joined the seminar and offered his views and advice.
Prof. Huang and the other economists believed that as counter-cyclical adjustments have been strengthened in the second half of the year with the promulgation and implementation of a range of targeted policies and measures, enterprises have been improving their performances and the economy has been maintaining a positive momentum in its recovery and growth. A comprehensive evaluation based on development stage, development conditions, and development advantages points to the bright prospects for China’s long-term growth. The experts also offered advice on economic work next year.
Premier Li told the economists and business leaders at the meeting that China’s economic performance has been steadily improving, laying solid groundworks for achieving the economic growth goals of this year. He stressed formulating growth strategies, setting forth economic policies, and implementing macroeconomic regulations, all for achieving high-quality development.
Premier Li also pointed out that China’s numerous investment opportunities and large market size make for a vast stage for all types of enterprises to play an important role in driving high-quality development. He also called on economists and scholars to conduct more research into China’s economic issues and offer a bigger amount of constructive advice centering on high-quality development.
