Prof. Huang Yiping Speaks in High-Quality Development Forum
Oct 20-2023
On October 14, the 2023 Innovation-Driven High-Quality Development Forum was held at the Conference Center of the National People Congress. Under the aegis of China Economic and Social Council, the event was co-organized by several universities and research centers, including the National School of Development, and attended by senior officials and renowned experts.
Prof. Huang Yiping of the NSD delivered a keynote speech entitled Digital Economy Sets out Anew, sharing research findings and views on the healthy development of the digital economy in the future. He pointed out that China’s digital economy has made remarkable achievements but in recent years has grown at a slower pace. As a result, it is lagging behind the international development level, particularly that of the US, a phenomenon to which enough attention should be paid. As for its future growth, Prof. Huang stressed the importance of innovations, especially basic or original ones relating to cutting-edge technologies. He also suggested encouraging private firms to join the innovation drive, for innovation requires the chemistry among industry, technology, and the government.
The forum consisted of opening remarks and four keynote speeches in the morning, and one keynote speech and one in-depth dialogue in the afternoon.
