NSD Professors Win Beijing’s Social Sciences Award

On December 15, the list of winners to be awarded the 17th Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Excellent Results was unveiled. Peking University had 19 research papers on the list.

 

Among them, a paper by Prof. Justin Yifu Lin, titled China’s New Development Pattern and Future Economic Development Outlook amid Unprecedented Transitions in a Century , was awarded the second prize. Prof. Lin is PKU Bo Ya Professor, Honorary Dean of NSD, Dean of Institute of New Structural Economics, and Dean of Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development.

 

Also winning the second prize was the book Understanding China’s Financial System: An Economic Analysis of the Reform Policy , by Prof. Huang Yiping and Mr. Wang Xun. Prof Huang is Deputy Dean of the NSD and Director of PKU Institute of Digital Finance (IDF); Mr. Wang is NSD Associate Research Fellow and IDF Senior Research Fellow.

 

Presented biennially and embodying the highest academic level of Beijing’s social sciences, the award aims to contribute to the flourishing of the capital’s social sciences and mobilize the proactiveness and creativity of researchers. A total of 210 prizes were given out this year, including 5 grand prizes, 40 first prizes, and 165 second prizes. PKU achieved 2 grand prizes, 5 first prizes, and 12 second prizes.
