NSD Boasts Remarkable Academic Output in 2023

Jan 05-2024

The National School of Development has long been committed to comprehensive development spanning teaching, research and think-tank. As for research, it has unswervingly upheld the principle of combining theory with practice. By rooting its research in real world issues while striving to generate top-notch output, it fuses the two goals of achieving thought innovation and promoting social progress into one.

In 2023, the faculty and research members of the NSD made remarkable achievements in a wide range of disciplines, including economics, finance, and management, as well as in research project applications at national, municipal, and university levels.

In academic publishing, 93 papers were published in 2023 by top domestic and international journals, including 61 in international ones such as Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, and The Lancet, and 32 in domestic ones like Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, and Economics (Quarterly).

As for research project application, three projects were accepted as major projects of the Ministry of Education’s humanities and social sciences program. Five won the grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, of which two was made part of ‘China’s Economics Proprietary Knowledge System Construction’.

The faculty and research members of the NSD have for years maintained a high level of academic output per person and achieved outstanding influence in their professional fields. At the same time, they have actively applied to or undertaken major research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, among others. Through the projects, they focus on hotspots and thorny issues of national development and provide expertise-based advice. Much can be expected of 2024 when they continue to make valuable contributions to national and societal progress.
