Jul 05-2024

China Economic Journal (CEJ) achieved an Impact Factor of 3.7 in 2023, placing it in Quartile Category 1 of economic journals worldwide, according to the latest Journal Citation Report (JCR) by Clarivate Analytic. The report unveiled globally trust-worthy, leading journals.

Of a total of 597 economic journals, CEJ ranked No.88. According to the most widely accepted criteria for Quartile Categories based on Journal Impact Factor (JIF), those with the top 25% JIF belong to Quartile Category 1.

CEJ is jointly run by the National School of Development (NSD) and Chinese Economists Society (CES) and published globally by Routledge Journals of Taylor & Francis. An academic journal in English, CEJ was officially launched in February 2008 and has three editions every year, each carrying six to eight papers that seek to provide its English readership with profound insights and professional analysis of China’s economic development. The papers use normative and rigorous economic methods to study major issues in China’s economic development; at the same time, they prioritize readability by avoiding overtly theoretical and technical expositions, thereby expanding the avenue to sharing professional research results on practical issues in the Chinese economy.

With its JIF in continuous rise, CEJ has entered the ‘observed candidate’ section of Social Sciences Citations Index (SSCI) journals. SSCI is part of Web of Science, a division of Clarivate Analytics. As a globally renowned social sciences citation databank, SSCI covers over 3,500 international, highly impactful journals spanning over 50 disciplines, with data traceable to year 1900.
