Prof. Huang Yiping Invited to Join the Group of Thirty (G30)
Apr 21-2026
Professor Huang Yiping, Dean of the National School of Development at Peking University, has accepted an invitation from the Group of Thirty (G30) to join the organisation in a personal capacity.
The G30 is comprised of some thirty highly influential figures in global economic and financial affairs and is widely regarded as the world’s premier economic and financial consultative group. It works to examine critical challenges facing the world’s economic and financial systems, foster in-depth exchanges amongst its members, build policy consensus, and exert a tangible influence on the shaping of international rules and global governance decisions.
Its membership is drawn predominantly from current and former central bank governors, finance ministers, leaders of international financial institutions and distinguished academics. Current members include the Governor-designate of the Federal Reserve Board and the central bank governors of the United Kingdom, China, Japan and South Africa, amongst others. The full membership list is available on the G30’s official website (https://group30.org/members).
In their joint letter of invitation, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of Singapore and Chairman of the Board of the G30, and Raghuram G. Rajan, Chairman of the G30 and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, paid warm tribute to Professor Huang’s outstanding contributions to academic research and policymaking over the course of his career. They expressed their conviction that the expertise and leadership he has demonstrated in macroeconomic policy, financial reform, economic development and the international financial system would bring considerable value to the Group’s future agenda and work.
Professor Huang Yiping said he felt deeply honoured to become a full member of the G30 and looked forward to contributing his expertise actively on this important international platform, deepening global economic and financial dialogue, and ensuring that the voice of Chinese scholarship is consistently heard.
