AI Empowerment: Intelligence Leading the Future

The global wave of artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping the landscape of industrial development. To deepen alumni's understanding of the latest AI commercialisation and to establish a premium platform for exchange and collaboration, the Tianjin Branch of the National School of Development Alumni Association, Peking University, has organised the themed alumni visit event, "AI Empowerment: Intelligence Leading the Future".

During the corporate visits, alumni toured three enterprises: The Executive Centre (TEC), NineGloble and Viatris. Mu Dan, a NSD alumnus, explained how TEC leverages its global network and flexible leasing models--ranging from individual workstations to tailored corporate suites, complemented by comprehensive business services--to help companies reduce the risks of heavy asset investment. This approach enables cost reduction, efficiency gains and the ability to adapt to modern hybrid working and remote collaboration trends. Cui Sifeng, another alumnus, guided the group through NineGloble, detailing the development of AI solutions for the education sector. He demonstrated how artificial intelligence is deeply integrated into educational settings, providing personalised learning support and intelligent teaching solutions. Liu Yan, also an alumnus and representative of Viatris, traced the company's growth trajectory and its commitment to improving health and well-being at every stage of life. The company fulfills this commitment by providing trusted, high-quality medicines, promoting sustainable operations, and delivering innovative solutions. Through on-site exchanges and live demonstrations, participants gained deeper insights into alumni enterprises across diverse sectors.

After the visits, Cui Sifeng provided valuable insights. By outlining current AI developments and national policies, he enhanced attendees' understanding of the technology. Through a combination of demonstrations and real-time interactive exercises, he equipped alumni with practical skills in using AI tools, resulting in significant workflow efficiency gains.

This half-day immersive experience proved immensely rewarding for participating alumni. It broadened their horizons regarding AI's cross-sector applications and equipped them with practical AI skills directly applicable to their daily work. This achieved a dual enhancement: expanded perspectives and practical capabilities.
